Getting A DISNEY VISA CARD For Your Teenage Kids

The DISNEY VISA CARD
If you have a teenage child then you may be beginning to wonder – or rather, you may be questioned by your teenager – as to when is the time to allow them to have access to their own money and their own banking and even a credit card account. Odd jobs your son or daughter does around the house or a local paper round will soon be earning them good money and they need to handle that income sensibly.
Now is a good time to learn how to handle money in preparation for the future. As such, a Disney rewards card can be a great tool to use for doing just this. Its a chance for them to carefully manage their own finances that they have earned while at the same time paying back anything that they owe, while you personally oversee the cards usage.
This may sound a bit scary to many parents but using a credit card such as the Disney World credit card has a number of obvious benefits.
- Firstly, its much safer to carry a credit card around than it is to carry cash. If cash is stolen for example, then thats it – gone for good! If a credit card is stolen your issuing bank will cover any costs involved and any money taken from the account.
- Secondly, a Disney rewards credit card account is easily managed. Regular statements are issued by the card company – either online or via post. Its very easy to see what is being spent on what and how much money is being paid into the account – a good education for your teenager.
- Thirdly, the Disney World credit card allows you and your teenager to earn a Disney credit card reward on every purchase made on the card. The more points accumulated means the more you get “for free”. Although you have to spend on the card to gain the rewards, again, if the card is carefully managed, these rewards are a really nice bonus indeed.
It goes without saying that in the early days of the Walt Disney credit card use, careful and very regular monitoring of how it is used is a must! Many adults do not know how to use credit cards carefully so we cannot expect a teenager to necessarily understand how to either.
With this in mind and if its really a big concern for you, then why not use the Disney reward card yourself to buy Disney gift cards for your teenager. This way its a little like a pre-loaded card, where the gift card amount obviously reflects the amount of savings your son or daughter has.
There are all sorts of enjoyable ways to use a Disney visa credit card and its entirely up to you how you wish to maximize its benefits, with your children’s help, of course!
